Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fatigue

I have been dealing with fatigue for the past week and it is really starting to get old.  Unfortunately it is making everything feel like a chore. Fatigue is one of those intangibles that those of us with RA have to deal with.  And l am always surprised when it rears its ugly head.  In every other respect I feel like we ( my rheumatologist and I )have the disease in check.  Initial I thought that maybe I over did things the day before but that clearly is not the case because this has been going on for far too long.  My blood work is fine so I know that it is just one of the invisible symptoms of the disease that I am going to have to deal with.  I have been trying to address the issue by taking it easy, not doing too much but it appears that I just really need more rest.  I have tried unsuccessfully to write about other things to get my mind off my exhaustion but no matter how hard I try,  my mind keeps going back to the fact that I am simply bushed. So off to bed with the hope that this episode will be short lived.

Gene Therapy for Rheumatoid Arthritis in the Future?

I just read an interesting article in the Harvard Science web site that talks about a new study done in Germany that has shown that gene therapy  reduces symptoms of RA in patients with advanced rheumatoid arthritis. It is an article worth reading.  I am providing a link for anyone that might be interested. http://harvardscience.harvard.edu/medicine-health/articles/gene-therapy-demonstrates-benefit-patients-with-rheumatoid-arthritis As I come accross information that I think might be useful or interesting or helpful or just fun I will pass it on.
