Hi Jo-Ann, thanks for adding me on Twitter (themadcatlady). :)

Just wanted to comment on this - I live in Lanzarote and you are so lucky that in England you have a *choice* of rheumatologists. Here on this island there is only ONE rheumatologist (on the national health, and there are no private ones - I did search!), so I´m stuck with her. Luckily, the one we have now is really good. The one before was okay I guess, but was more happy to just give you medication rather than helping you in general with your lifestyle changes etc. Hopefully this one will stay a bit longer than the last one too, it´s just so disheartening to have to start over with a new rheum every 6-12 months!

Btw, I´m 42 and have been diagnosed with RA 2 years ago. However, I have had fibromyalgia since my early 30s too, so my lifestyle changes for RA didn´t have to be as drastic as yours, and the diagnosis didn´t shock me as it did shock you...

The best and only way to get through living with our illnesses, I have found, is *staying positive* and being grateful for every day that is given to us with only minimal pain/swellings etc. At least I am. And my 3 kitties Janelle, Lugosi & Spider do help me get through each day as well. I don´t know where I would be without them. :)

After "firing" numerous rheumatologists due to the fact they rushed me or didn't truly "hear" me, I finally found one that takes the time--makes me feel like I'm the only one on her schedule for the day. I drive 2 hours to see her, but worth it.

I love this blog, will be adding it to my blogroll.
