Hi! Just found you via Twitter. I'm also in RI and have had RA for about 12 years. Thanks for this great reminder to focus on what I can do and accept help with the things I can't do.

So true! During the first few years of living with rA I often focused on the limitatioms. Though this is not the best reaction, I think it's a normal one - after all, just getting through the pain can be very difficult as we all know. But during the past few months, I have changed my focus and can attest to how much it helps. My body can worsen but my mind can still soar, and being able to do so despite my illness is a wonderful feeling. Thank you for this beautifully written post.

Spot on again..I'm still in the transition of shifting my focus on what I can do as opposed to what I can't. It's hard not to be negative about the changes we have to live with, but you have to get happy in the same pants you got upset in...and believe in yourself..not the body of self, the spirit of self...Thank you again for "getting it"...Hugs!

You said it all! Thanks!

I heard a lady in an interview about weight loss say, "And focus on your goals — not the struggle,” I am a firm believer in being positive.
